SAMS Member US Biologic Receives USDA Conditional Licensure for Novel Oral Vaccine
The Securing America’s Medicines and Supply (SAMS) Coalition is excited to share that US Biologic, one of our member companies, has received Conditional Licensure from the USDA for its oral vaccine which prevents the spread of Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacteria responsible for Lyme Disease.
The vaccine, called “Borrelia Burgdorferi Bacterin,” is spray-coated onto pellets that mice, which are a common vector for Lyme Disease, consume. This intervention will help stop the spread of the most common vector-borne disease in the United States, affecting 20,000 to 30,000 Americans yearly.
SAMS shares US Biologic’s excitement regarding the public health benefits of the Borrelia Burgdorferi Bacterin vaccine and looks forward to continuing to advocate for innovative American medical companies.
