WASHINGTON, D.C., November 3, 2022 – The Securing America’s Medicines and Supply (SAMS) Coalition, today, applauded the appointment of Livia Shmavonian as the Director of the White House ‘Made in America’ Office.
The ‘Made in America’ Office, within the Office of Management and Budget, has been integral in helping shape and implement federal procurement and financial management policy. SAMS is encouraged by the Office’s vision of a resilient domestic medical supply chain. The Coalition also publicly acknowledged former Director Celeste Drake for her commitment and partnership.
“At SAMS, we value partnerships that allow us to better support the American taxpayer and patient,” said David Sanders, SAMS Executive Director and Vice President of Government Affairs and Policy at Coherus BioSciences. “We look forward to the work that Livia Shmavonian will accomplish in the domestic production space and make ourselves available to work together towards this goal.”
SAMS looks forward to working with Director Shmavonian and the Administration to promote policies that will strengthen the U.S. industrial base, bolster domestic manufacturing, and protect the United States through future public health crises.
