SAMS Applauds Senate Finance Committee Hearing on Drug Shortages

WASHINGTON D.C., November 30, 2023 — Securing America’s Medicines and Supply (SAMS), a multi-industry coalition of companies with the mission to strengthen the security of the United States medical supply chain, issued the following statement concerning the Senate Finance Committee’s forthcoming hearing on drug shortages:

“SAMS commends Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Ranking Member Mike Crapo (R-ID) for their desire to examine the pressing national security issue of drug shortages. From PBM reform to mental health care, they have shown a keen ability to find bipartisan consensus on some of the most pressing issues facing our health care system. Their bipartisan leadership is desperately needed on this important issue,” said David Sanders, Executive Director of SAMS.
